Weddings
Magic happens with an open heart. The greatest magic of all has been and always will be Love.
Congratulations on your Engagement
The decision to get married is the biggest decision you will make in your life. Now the fun begins. Organising your wedding can at times be stressful. One element of your day that can be stress free is the ceremony. With the right Marriage Celebrant, the stress and guess work will be eliminated.
The role of the celebrant is to help you create your ceremony taking into account your beliefs, traditions and wishes and to perform the ceremony in a professional way.
Penrith, Blue Mountains and Western Sydney have some wonderful natural, historic and modern facilities where you can hold your ceremony.
Once you have decided on a date and time, call me to have a chat and ask whatever questions come to mind. Or email with a convenient time for me to call you back. During the phone call we can establish what paperwork is needed. Then at a convenient time, we can have a face to face interview where you can decide if I'm a suitable celebrant for you.
From there, together, we can start to build the perfect ceremony.
Notice Of Intended Marriage (NOIM). This notice is required to be completed and witnessed by a celebrant no less than 1 month & 1 day prior to your chosen wedding date and no more than 18 months prior. You can complete the NOIM either with your celebrant at the initial interview or download a copy from Attorney Generals website. Go to www.ag.gov.au/www/agd/agd.nsf/Page/MarriageGetting_Married and select the PDF.
To lodge the NOIM, identification will need to be sighted by the celebrant. You will need your birth certificates (originals) and evidence that any prior marriage has been dissolved by either death or divorce.
During the ceremony, there are a few sections that are required by law to be said and heard. Monitum: “I am duly authorized by law to solemnize marriages according to law. Before you are joined in marriage in my presence and in the presence of these witnesses, I am to remind you of the solemn and binding nature of the relationship into which you are now about to enter. Marriage, according to law in Australia, is the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.”
or words to that effect.
The Vows: “I call upon the persons here present to witness that I, Groom (or Bride.), take thee, Bride (or Groom), to be my lawful wedded wife (or husband)”
or words to that effect.
The Declaration: "As you, (Bride) and (Groom) have consented to be married in the presence of your family and friends, I know pronounce you to be husband and wife"
or words to that effect.
Aside from the above, the rest is up to you to choose to make your ceremony unique and memorable.
